How $0 actually works.

It is a capped permission, not a payment

When you sign up, your wallet asks you to approve a spending permission with a ceiling on it. No money moves at that moment. Nothing is held in escrow, and no balance is frozen — you can keep using the wallet exactly as before.

It is never unlimited

The permission carries an exact maximum in total and an expiry date. Payments may be collected in parts, but their combined total can never exceed that maximum. Those limits are enforced by the contract itself, not by our promise. If you are ever shown an unlimited approval request by anyone, refuse it — here or elsewhere.

You can revoke it yourself

The permission lives in your wallet, so you can withdraw it at any time without asking us. Once it is revoked, no future fee can be collected using that permission. Any resulting account restrictions are governed by the published terms.

When the authorized fee can be collected

No challenge fee is collected at signup. After you approve, one or more payments may be collected, including before the challenge passes. Their combined total can never exceed the exact authorized fee.

What happens if the wallet cannot cover the fee

Signup only requires the small published starting balance. A later collection succeeds only when the same authorized token on the same network holds the requested amount. You can add those funds later.
